I am a fully qualified and very experienced one-to-one music teacher in Harp, Piano, Flute, Descant Recorder and Music Theory. Having gained my P.G.C.E. in Music Education for 7-14 year olds, I have spent my many years both teaching Music in classrooms and as a one-to-one instrumental teacher, currently as specialist piano teacher at Reigate St Mary’s Prep School, Surrey.
The majority of my teaching, however, is in Haywards Heath, West Sus. I offer lessons to both children and adults, beginners and those with experience – the only condition is that they enjoy music! I can give lessons on a weekly or fortnightly basis, either throughout the calendar year or around the school calendar. For all instruments, preparation for all public grade examinations for the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) is offered, but not compulsory! I have a 100% pass rate for examination entries in all instruments and music theory, a wonderful testament to the fabulous pupils who I have been lucky enough to teach, both past and present.
Music theory is included as a standard part of all instrumental lessons, to follow the ABRSM syllabus with preparation for Grade 5 Music Theory a focus. (Grade 5 music theory is compulsory for any candidate wishing to sit practical music examinations for Grades 6-8 ABRSM). I also offer solely Music Theory lessons for those students who need to achieve their Grade 5 examination to progress with other instrumental learning.
